.North East Victoria Wedding.

Sam & Brad.

I’ve been photographing weddings for six years. But it took Sam and Brad’s wedding to take me back to my home, North East Victoria, to capture my first wedding in the area I grew up.

From the sun that peeped thru just for the photos, to the incredible marquee decorated by Sam and her family, and all the warm hugs that were shared through the day… it was one to remember.

Sam and I have known each other for years! So when she hinted she’d love me to come back to photograph her wedding, I barely even let her finish before I’d agreed!

The day before, we jumped in the car and checked out the locally iconic, old trestle bridge over the Goulburn River. Then, we went just down the road, around the corner and onto a dirt road and found our second location… totally on a whim (I had Google-map-scouted it a few days before), the most incredible field, on the side of this dirt road, with a view to the hills in the background that was just MADE for wedding photos!

As I edited these photos however, I realised it was not the view that made them special… it was the laughs these two shared together throughout the day, the looks exchanged, the embraces shared, unprompted; the quiet moments they assumed I wasn’t photographing them in, where they were just themselves with each other.

Sam & Brad - yours was a day, that I won’t forget!

PS on a cheeky side-note… if you’re reading this and wondering if I travel back to North East Victoria for weddings… YES… yes I do! ; )
